Editorial Guidelines

These are the rules the content on this site is written to. They exist so you can judge what you are reading, and so that anyone writing here has a standard to be held to.

What we publish, and where it comes from

Two kinds of content sit on this site, and they are produced differently.

Offers

Coupon codes and deals come from the retailer, from an affiliate network feed, or from the retailer’s own offers page. Each one is published with the date it arrived and the expiry its source stated. Nothing is added without both.

Guides

Written here. They explain how discounting works — how codes stack, when categories go on sale, what a term means — and are dated so you can see when each was last reviewed.

What we do not claim

A coupon site can only honestly say so much, and there are three claims we will not make.

• We do not say a code was tested at checkout. Verifying a code means completing a purchase, and we do not do that for every offer on the site. Where you see a date, it is the date the offer was published or last checked against its source — not proof it worked in a real basket.
• We do not predict discounts. Sale event pages describe what has historically gone on sale and when the event runs. They do not forecast a percentage.
• We do not invent dates. An offer with no stated expiry is published without one. An event with no announced date is marked not yet announced and stays that way until the retailer says otherwise.

How offers are ordered

Offers are ordered by expiry — soonest first — or by the structure of the page they sit on. Commission rate plays no part in the order, and no retailer can pay to appear higher, to be added, or to have a competitor removed. See the disclosure notice for how the site is funded.

Corrections

Codes expire, and sometimes an offer is listed that no longer works. If you find one, tell us and it gets pulled or replaced. Reports of dead codes are usually actioned the same day.

When a guide is materially wrong rather than merely out of date, the page is corrected and its updated date changes. We do not silently rewrite a claim and leave the original date in place.

Independence

No retailer, network or advertiser reviews this content before it is published, and none has any right to. Where a store is listed and we earn nothing from it, it stays listed anyway if it is useful to you.
